2012 Olympic Monument

Turner Prize winning artist Anish Kapoor's design has been chosen as the monument that will grace the 2012 Olympics in London. Named the ArcelorMittal Orbit it will be 115 metres tall - that's 22 m taller than the Statue of Liberty! To me it looks to be a striking and original piece of art that will hopefully be around for as long as the Eiffel Tower!

Your Thursday questions are: -

  1. Which of the British armed forces was formed today in 1918?

  2. What musical instrument was played by Sergei Rachmaninov (right) who was born today in 1873?

  3. Which Sky Sports commentator and former England cricket captain was born today in 1957?
Yesterday's Answers: 1. Germany (Kingdom of Hanover); 2. Carla Tortelli; 3. Eiffel Tower
