Cable Car for London?

Plans are under way to build a cable car across the Thames linking the O2 Arena with the ExCel Exhibition Centre, which are both Olympic Venues. All parties seem to think this is a good idea and it is envisaged that it could carry 2000 passengers per hour. London would then join Barcelona, Cologne, Hong Kong, Lisbon, New York and Singapore as cities that already operate cable car systems!
