Birmingham 55th Best City in the World

Out of 221 cities evaluated for Quality of Living, Birmingham came 55th. Vienna was top of the list and Baghdad was bottom. The list is compiled by Mercer and is a guide for companies as to how employees should be compensated when relocated to different parts of the world. Interestingly, all the cities are ranked versus New York (Rating 100) which comes out 49th. Maybe our new slogan should be - "Come to Birmingham - it's only a bit worse than New York!"!

Your Thursday questions are:-
  1. Which Art Deco New York skyscraper was officially opened today in 1930?

  2. Singer Anthony Newley (right) became the second husband of which British actress today in 1963?

  3. Which author, who wrote "The Maltese Falcon", was born today in 1894?
Yesterday's Answers: 1. Manchester United; 2. Conservative; 3. World Trade Center (South Tower)
