Phil Taylor - 14-Time World Champion

Phil 'The Power' Taylor wins his 14th World Championship at a canter defeating Raymond 'Barney' van Barneveld by 7 - 1 in the final. A tremendous effort, but as a few friends and me were discussing the other evening, "Is Darts a Sport?"

Well, I don't want to bore you with the full extent of our somewhat drunken discussions, but I'd like to leave you with this thought/question - can anything that is played in a pub ever be called a sport? (answers on a postcard, please!)

On with the questions: -

  1. In which country was King Juan Carlos of Spain born, today in 1938?
  2. The oil tanker MV Braer ran aground off the coast of which islands today in 1993?
  3. Actor Joe Flanigan (below) was born today in 1967 and plays Colonel John Sheppard in which TV sci-fi series? Joe Flannigan at Comic Con 2007. Reproduced Courtesy Jill Bratcher © 2007 or Jill B./MajorSamFan © 2007

Yesterday's Answers: 1. Appendix; 2. Julia Ormond; 3. Sir Edmund Hillary
