The cat is finally out of the bag; the new Doctor Who is to be played by Matt Smith. At 26 he'll be the youngest ever Doctor Who. Obviously something like this is great for we trivia buffs, but as a fan of Doctor Who myself it is also very interesting news.
I've not heard of Matt Smith so it will be fun to see how it works out with him as the Doctor. My only gripe (and it's a pretty minor one!) is that I long for the 'good old days' when the Doctor regenerated and you didn't know who it was going to be!
Here we go, more trivia: -
- Dr William Grant was the first to surgically remove what successfully from a patient, today in 1885?
- Who was born today in 1965 in Surrey (pictured right) and played the title role in the 1995 film “Sabrina”?
- Which New Zealander led the first overland expedition to successfully reach the South Pole, since Captain Scott, today in 1958?
