This weekend sees the largest gathering of Atheists in Australian history, in Melbourne. Presenters include Richard Dawkins and Philip Pullman. All 2,500 tickets sold out earlier in the year, but a religious event held at the same venue in December attracted three times as many delegates. I didn't realise that there was an international organisation of atheists, but the Atheist Alliance International was formed in 1991! (I suppose I thought that they were as organised as Anarchists!)
Your Saturday questions are: -
- Adam Clayton (right) was born today in 1960 and is the bass guitarist with which band?
- Astronomer Percival Lowell was born today in 1855 and believed there were canals on which planet in the Solar System?
