Rowers Break 114-Year-Old Atlantic Record

Taken at face value, this story looks like a monumental achievement and their endeavours are to be applauded! However...the original record was set in 1896 by TWO men (this expedition used FOUR rowers) in an open wooden boat (this time was with a high-tech craft) with no other support!! I'm not sure what the original crew did for food, but their achievement was monumental even though it has been largely forgotten. The feat of the Artemis is excellent and should be suitably recognised, but the original crew of Frank Samuelson and George Harbo were almost super human...and they were the first people to row across an ocean!
