138th Open Golf Championship

Today sees the start of the Open Golf Championship (the 'British' Open to our American cousins!) on the Ailsa Course at Turnberry. Can Tiger win his fourth Claret Jug, will Harrington get out of his slump and win again or could Monty do it this time? I'll be watching as much as I can on the BBC. It looks like a great course and should be a thrilling tournament!

Colin Montgomerie European Ryder Cup Captain

For the next Ryder Cup match, to be played at The Celtic Manor Resort in 2010, the European captain is to be Colin Montgomerie.

As someone who like to follow a little white ball around the countryside, I think this is a great choice. I am a big fan of Monty and hope he can capture the form he showed as a player in his role as captain
