Quiz Night @ Bull's Head

Last night was the regular Tuesday Night Quiz at the Bull's Head in Hall Green. I haven't mentioned it recently, but it is still going well with plenty of teams still coming along for an entertaining evening of gentle quizzing. It is still a mystery to me why/how, after 8+ years of presenting Quiz Nights, they appear to be as popular as ever...not that I'm complaining!!

Bull's Head Quiz Night

Tuesday night is Quiz Night at the Bull's Head in Hall Green and I'm writing this just before I set off to present the quiz. Last week's runners-up were the Wacky Racers, who came second in a tie breaker. One member of the team is John Garghan who writes the blog You'll Never Look at them in the Same Way Again. He's also set himself the objective of taking a photograph every day and posting it on his Flikr site. Superb Website for Trivia Buffs

While setting the Tuesday night quiz at the Bull's Head I discovered this fantastic website - Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations - which has the widest range of statistics on world food production (and very up-to-date as well!).

For example: - the world production of Wheat in 2007 was 607 million tonnes (in 1961 it was 222 MT). The single largest country production was China with nearly 109 MT (in 1961; USSR with 62MT).

There are many more bits of information to keep any self-respecting trivia buff happy for hours!
