Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon

Just before sitting down to write this blog I caught the last part of a BBC2 programme about the new 'science' utilising the theory of Six Degrees of Separation, which essentially postulates that everyone in the world is only six friendships away from everyone else! Strange, but actually true! I need to watch it again to fully understand it. Hopefully the links in this blog will help you to follow the ideas better.

UK Unemployment Hits Two Million

Not since the late 1990's has UK unemployment been so high. This time, I'm one of the two million! The unemployment rate is 6.5%, which means that 93.5% of people are working! So that's not so bad then! (Well that's what I keep telling myself, anyway!)
